Trinidad and Tobago lies at the southern most end of the Caribbean archipelago, off the Northeast coast of Venezuela (11 00 N, 61 00 W). The climate is tropical – with a rainy season (June to December) and a dry season (January to May). The country covers an area of 5,128 square kilometres (1,980 square miles ) and consists of two main islands.
The country has been an independent nation since 1962 and is governed under a Parliamentary democracy similar to that of the United Kingdom. Trinidad and Tobago’s economy is industrial with an emphasis on petroleum and petrochemicals. The country is known for its annual carnival celebrations and is known internationally as the birthplace of the steelpan (musical instrument), calypso (musical genre), soca (musical genre), and limbo (dance)
Trinidad and Tobago has an estimated population of 1,300,000 with 55,000 of this total residing on the island of Tobago. GDP for 2008 was estimated to be US$29.01 billion.
Trinidad is the larger of the two islands. It has a land mass of approximately 864 square miles (4,828 square kilometres), is mainly flat and rolling, with mountains in the north that reach a height of 3,085 ft (940 m) at Mount Aripo.
Tobago is situated approximately twenty-three miles North East of her sister isle Trinidad. Tobago has a land area 120 square miles (300 square kilometres) and its topography is a geological wonderland of undulating fold mountains and rolling plains, white, gray and variegated beach sands, fascinating coral reefs, rich fertile soils and mangroves.
The membership of Dance Ensemble and the organization itself can be found on the Island of Tobago. Our Adult classes/meetings are held in the auditorium of the Scarborough Secondary School Located at Shaw Park, Scarborough, Tobago. These sessions are on Saturdays between 4:30pm and 6:15pm.
Our Children Classes (ages 8-15 yrs) – are held at the Signal Hill Senior Comprehensive School from 2:30pm to 3:45pm on Saturdays.

Adults are required to pay either:
(1) A registration fee of $30.00 plus your first quarterly subscription of $120.00 ($150.00 total for new members)
(2) A reinstatment fee of $120.00 plus two quarterly subscription payments of $120.00 ($360.00 total for old members)
